United Premier qualification requirements for every tier

Short answer

Each United Premier tier has two paths: a PQP + PQF combination, or a higher PQP-only total. For 2026, Premier 1K needs 22,000 PQP + 60 PQF or 28,000 PQP. United also requires a minimum number of flight segments on United or United Express.

2026 Premier requirements by tier

Most flyers qualify on PQP alone. The PQF path helps frequent short-haul travelers whose fares are lower.

Silver: 5,000 PQP + 15 PQF, or 6,000 PQP.

Gold: 10,000 PQP + 30 PQF, or 12,000 PQP.

Common qualification mistakes

Counting award flights as PQP (they generally don't earn PQP). Assuming partner flights earn like United tickets. Forgetting the United-operated segment minimum. Missing that credit card PQP have caps set by United.
