Step 1: Reach Premier 1K on paid United flying
Premier 1K is the published top tier and the pool most Global Services members come from. Reaching it mostly through credit card PQP or partner flights seems to help much less than reaching it on tickets United sells and operates.

Step 2: Concentrate revenue where it counts
Consolidate business travel onto United rather than splitting across airlines. When a trip is long-haul and a premium cabin is reasonable for you or your employer, that one ticket can add as much revenue as many short domestic flights.
Buying expensive fares only to chase an invitation is rarely worth it. The better question is which trips you'd take anyway, and how to book them on United.
Step 3: Stay consistent and track trajectory
Flyers who spend at a high level year after year, or who held Global Services before, report more reliable invitations than one-off big years. Watch your projected year-end numbers during the year so you can decide early whether a few planned trips would move you meaningfully closer.
